Finding and identifying the most correct way to comply with all the required standards

Electrified furniture

The electrified furniture has recently been regulated by European standards. Sicom Testing can help the manufacturer to identify the applicable standards and perform the tests required so that the placing of the product on the market is correct both technically and regulatory.

Thanks to years of experience and constant update, Sicom Testing can:

  • help the manufacturer familiarize with and find the correct way to comply with all required standards ;
  • if there are different products but very similar, identify product families to group them in a consistent way and run tests on a few products, thus saving the manufacturer time and financial resources;
  • provide a service of high competence also for the mechanical tests operating in collaboration with the laboratory CATAS.

Products of electrified furniture

The electrified furniture products can be divided into two broad categories: the furniture products with electrified movements (easy chairs, motorized sofa beds, adjustable desks and tables) and products for the furniture with no movements but provided with lighting components or connectivity (furniture, tables and couches with spot lights and electrical outlets).

The motorized furniture components must meet the requirements of machinery Directive 2006/42/CE and Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive 2014/30/UE.

The certification of lighting components requires the adherence to the rules described by Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive 2014/30/UE and Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU

To obtain the CE marking of the furniture, the manufacturer can request the help of a specialized laboratory.
Sicom Testing performs all necessary tests, provides support in drafting documents, the technical dossier and it has experience in the field of furnishing components for medical use.
