Radio tests
There directive 2014/53/EU regulates the placing on the European market of radio equipment and requires manufacturers and importers to proceed with the conformity assessment before affixing the CE mark and marketing the products. There presumption of conformity can be obtained through the complete execution of everything required by the harmonized standards applicable to the product.
Sicom Testing carries out, in its laboratories, all the tests required to obtain certification of radio equipment and for all products that have radio interfaces. The testing capability includes all major standards used today including GSM, GPRS, GPS, UMTS, LTE, DECT, SRD, RFID, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi.
The service offering is structured to cover the different needs of customers:
- minimum checks as required by law
- performance checks
- measurement of service quality
- interoperability with telecommunications networks
- beta testing of systems
- analysis and correction of products
- drafting of Technical Manufacturing Dossiers
- verification of incoming and outgoing batches of components and products
Testing of radio equipment
Radio equipment, in addition to the Electromagnetic Compatibility and Safety requirements, must guarantee a correct use of the electromagnetic spectrum.
For this reason, the radio device is required to transmit within the limits of frequencies, powers and transmission times established by the European reference standards and in accordance with the national frequency plans of the Member States. Because the radio product is an intentional transmitter, some of the EMC testing is conducted differently than for other equipment.
